How to Play Baccarat
The basic idea
Baccarat compares two hands called Player and Banker. You usually choose which result you are betting on rather than deciding how the cards are drawn.
Main bet options
- Player: the Player hand finishes closer to 9.
- Banker: the Banker hand finishes closer to 9.
- Tie: both hands finish on the same total.
Card values
Aces count as 1. Cards 2–9 use their face value. Tens, jacks, queens and kings count as 0. Only the final digit of a two-digit total is used, so 7 + 8 = 15 becomes 5.
Drawing rules
Additional cards are dealt according to the baccarat rules used by that table. The player normally does not choose hit or stand. Check the table information panel for the exact rules and side bets.
Before betting
Look at the table limits and payout information. Side bets can have different rules and payouts from the three main outcomes.
